Start with what you know
Write down your preferred moving window, the addresses involved and any dates that cannot change. Keep a separate list of questions for your building manager.
Take a room inventory
Walk through each room and note large furniture, fragile items and anything that needs disassembly. Measurements can help when a doorway or elevator is tight.
Prepare an essentials bag
Keep identification, medication, chargers, keys and the things you need on your first evening with you. Label this bag clearly and keep it separate from the moving inventory.
Check access early
Ask about elevator reservations, loading areas and parking permissions. Share confirmed restrictions when discussing a moving plan.
Leave time for a final check
Look through cupboards, storage areas and shared spaces. Photograph utility readings if relevant and keep important handover details together.
